Released on 29th April 1981, Fair Warning is the fourth album by American rock band Van Halen. The album includes darker and harder material in comparison to the later poppier sound that the band would come to adopt.
Fair Warning saw Van Halen begin to incorporate synthesizers into the band’s sound, even as Eddie Van Halen attempted to bring his guitar skill to the fore. This was a significant addition to the band’s songwriting process that would go on to have much influence over their future material and commercial success.
The album hit number 5 on the US Billboard 200 album chart and went on to be certified double-Platinum in the US.
